Don't act like you're not impressed. ;'o
Zarek was firstborn to a pair of newlyweds at the time. After his infancy, his parents never really spent much time with him; they'd rather go on a spur-of-the-moment date or vacation, leaving Zarek with a babysitter most of the time. Since he was rarely around his parents, he began to learn to think and do things for himself much earlier on than other children. His parents never settled down until they had their second child, a little girl named Sadie. Zarek was about six years old at the time. Unlike Zarek, though, his parents were actually around to raise Sadie, giving her a more happy-go-lucky and energetic nature. The siblings' conflicting nature always led them to get into arguments and fights, but their parents would always favor Sadie. Zarek finally got the hint as to who the favorite was in the house and began to distance himself from the rest of his family; he'd lock himself in his room to study and read by himself, only to come out to get some food or use the bathroom. He'd also spend a lot of time at his friends' houses, meaning he was rarely home to begin with. This cycle never really changed, even throughout most of high school. Despite this, though, Zarek never really had a bad outlook on life. He's still firm in believing that, as long as he's still alive, he can change the outcome of his life. The knowledge and friends he's gained so far are proof enough of this for him.
