A disciple of Darth Plagueis, Sranus has been trained firmly in the Dark Side of the force. There is no tragic circumstances to his name, no set of unfortunate events that made this so, he was simply born with an insatiable hunger to dominate everything and everyone. And the agents of the Dark Side are ever so skilled at detecting these kinds of individuals. After being promised immortality by Darth Plagueis, a young Sranus was tasked with murdering his own parents and two brothers. This he did, with his bare hands no less. Pleased that Sranus showed much promise, Darth Plagueis immediately took him on as one of his several apprentices. His hunger to dominate his peers was a natural conduit when it came to the force, and he far surpassed many of Darth Plagueis's other apprentices. Indeed, he killed many of them himself if he saw them as a threat. By 34 Y.B, only Darth Sidious could have been considered Sranus' better, and this fact became an unreachable itch on the latter's mind. Sranus fought Darth Sidious at Darth Plagueis's bidding, in a light-sabre duel to the death. It was to be a final test, to prove who truely was Darth Plagueis's greater disciple. Darth Sidious defeated Sranus decisively, slicing his right arm from him, and kicking him into a reactor core. Miraculously, Sranus was not consumed by the reactor, but he was scorched by it. Indeed, 95% of his flesh is scarred horribly from the burns - a constant reminder of his inferiority to Darth Sidious. He was able to crawl out of the reactor, and make his way to his ship. He had it flown on auto-pilot to his hideout on Sartinaynian. From there, he was healed back to health by his own apprentices. Much has happened since then. Sranus has declared himself a Sith lord, and the true apprentice of Darth Plagueis. Denouncing Darth Sidious as a weak fool, and making good his death, Darth Sranus has become a rally beacon for Sith followers from across the Galaxy. Through skilful manipulation, he has poisoned the mind of Supreme Admiral of the Imperial Fleet Kell Zaine. Darth Sranus and his disciples are now the chosen guardians of Kell's emerging Empire, and they have established training institutions and monasteries across the network of Imperial worlds. Members of n Kell's inner circle fear Darth Sranus, and with good reason. Anyone who speaks ill of him, no matter how sure they are that their words will go unheard, end up dead. Indeed, he is not above marching into the Council of Moffs and arresting a senior ranking admiral there and then. Any attempts to alert Kell of Darth Sranus' dealings end with a similar fate. Therefore, many speculate that it is Darth Sranus, not Admiral Zaine, who leads the Empire. If this is the case, then the Sith may be more of a threat than many have so far assumed. Temperament:Calm. Emotionless.

Name: Kell Zaine Age: 55 Gender: Male Appearance: Bio: Kell Zaine was an aspiring admiral in the Republic Navy. However, despite his ambition, he never proved his worth beyond collating star logs, interfering with local security agencies and talking the ears off any high ranking politician about the "glory of the Republic!" Naturally, he was despised by those higher up the food chain, who saw him as an idealistic moron. His eagerness for advancement was too much, and its irritating repercussions made him an untouchable. Indeed, his fleet was usuaully posted to the Outer Rim Territories performing anti-pirate activities. With the Trade Federation preparing their assault on Crouscant, Kell disobeyed orders to remain where he was, and driven by his love for the Republic, ordered his fleet to the impending battle. The arrival of his forces proved to be much needed reinforcements, and despite his image as an irritating scourge, he proved himself a very able commander. Indeed, in the later stages of the Second Assault of Coruscant, it was his fleet that held the refugee lanes open. After the battle, he immediately cemented his authority over other fleet admirals. Some would not heed him, and went their own ways, but others were drawn to his illustrious charisma. He remarkably reformed the shattered remnants of the fleets that followed him, and formed them into a significant battle force. Realising he was out matched by the Trade Federation's presence in the Corusca Sector, he took his ships to the Braxant Sector - known very well to him from his time there. As mentioned, he became frustrated by the other self-appointed leaders of the Republic's remnants, that he lost sight of that he wished to defend: Democracy. He realised quickly that it would take a single man of great strength, and sure-fire conviction, to turn the tide of a war many had decided was already over. He was visited by Darth Sranus, a dormant yet powerful Sith Lord. Sranus promised the disillusioned admiral a great victory over the Trade Federation, if only he would endorse the Dark Side. After a brief wavering of conscience, and a few more poisoned words from Sranus, Kell agreed. Under Darth Sranus' tender guidance, Kell dispatched his immediate political enemies, and assumed control of the self-proclaimed Braxant Empire. Indeed, it was with the Dark Side's influence, that Kell plied his warships against civil disorder. Within ten years, he was the defacto ruler of the Braxant Sector, and his warships had swelled in numbers. Again, with Darth Stranus' guidance, Kell led his enlarged fleet to the Corusca Sector. Once there, he issued the Trade Federation with a simple proclamation: "Send forth your leaders, so that justice may be done upon them. Or, you will all die. Your machines are a fakery - a mere illusion of safety. I will find you all, and, I. WILL. KILL. YOU. ALL." This was an eerie sign of things to come. Naturally, the Trade Federation with its vastly superior forces, responded by engaging him. He in turn dealt them a devastating defeat, proving his worth once again as a commander. The Corusca Sector fell under his control in short order, and he established the Corusca-Braxant Empire. Intending to remain true to his proclamation, he immediately geared every planet under his control to industrial output. Anyone that stood in his way, died horribly. He had become blinded by his hatred, and posioned by the Sith. With Darth Sranus taking care of "peace keeping" operations, Kell became largely unaware of the true scales of the horrors his people were suffering. Always, when hunger revolts rose up, or calls for democratic change were made, Darth Sranus would handle the situation and report false casualty logs. Somewhere in there, remains the spoilt, irritable and aspiring commander that he was. Somewhere in there, is the man that stood against the Trade Federation at the Second Assault on Coruscant, holding them at bay so that millions would live. A powerful Jedi, wise in the ways of the Force, may yet help him reclaim his mind. Temperament: Switches wildly between energetic, calm, enraged and depressed. A fortified world, though still in its infancy, Sartinaynian offered Kell the time and means he needed to fight back against the Trade Federation. Despite lobbying the other self-appointed leaders who had formed in the wake of the broken and leaderless Republic, Kell found himself unable to convince them of the need to launch a decisive counter attack and to retake Coruscant. "The people," he proclaimed, "need hope. A victory over Coruscant will give them just that!" Crouscant however, was a glassed ruin. Her billions of inhabitants mercilessly killed, her vast urban space no more than rubble, and her industry now non-existent. His peers rejected the plan, and he found the senior officers amidst his ranks were likewise against it. To many, it was simply not worth the risk, not when Sartinaynian could be defended indefinitely. Frustrated, Kell turned to darker powers. Dormant Sith agents had been drawn to him by his lust for a continuation of the war, and by his apparent hatred for the Trade Federation. They knew in him was the man they needed to further their own cause. In his darkest hour, they provided him with fine promises of victory, and of justice. He accepted their help, and in return, they silenced the senior officers who were trying to wrestle the control of his fleet from him. It took Kell a decade to establish an iron grip on the Braxant Sector. Many had tried to stop him, and many had failed - no thanks in any small part to his Sith allies. With their help, he established himself as Supreme Commander of the Braxant Imperial Fleet. To dissolve of the animosity from the ranks, he elected twelve of his most senior and promising officers onto the Council of Moffs, and gave them the false power of vetoes over his decisions, and the illusion that they had some control of his actions. In this time, Sartinaynian, now aptly named Bastion, had been transformed into an industrial powerhouse. Kell risked near-economic collapse in swelling his fleet by scores of ships, and once he was ready, he led his war machine against the Trade Federation at the Battle of Coruscant. The battle was fierce, and Kell was out numbered three to one. Through superior understanding of battle tactics, he defeated the Federation decisively, breaking their hold over the entire sector. They fell back, but beyond the sector's borders, they are regrouping. His open alliance with the Sith has also brought him animosity from not only his own subjects, but from other entities who seek to undo all that he has strove to achieve. The RP will start with the Corusca-Braxant Empire in its tenth year. Civil disturbances have been put down by an iron fist, and all live in fear of the Supreme Admiral. He has by now reached the age of fifty-five, and although is healthy, no one is entirely sure who will take the helm when he passes away. The Sith have flourished in Imperial territories, with their own institutions fully endorsed by Kell. The Imperial war machine has been gearing up for another run in with the Trade Federation, and has now assembled two mighty fleets. The Coruscant Fleet is primarily a defensive force in nature, using older ships than the fabled Black Fleet - Kell's untested but nevertheless feared main battle force. Coruscant has been repopulated, and redeveloped, but is many, many years away from reaching its former glories. Duneeden, Utrost and Weerden have been transformed into factory worlds, with their sole aim being based in ship production.
