So, here's a basic outline of my race. Name: Still at the drawing board for the overall name, but two of the major sub-factions (if there will be any more than that) will be called Zenrax and Pyrax. Location: Either the Wild Space or Unknown Space. Holdings: Race: Just one major species other than human, if any. I'm not entirely sure where to go from there beyond saying that the [non-human people] exhibit many human characteristics, and are Force-sensitive in their own specialized ways. Government and Leaders: It'll likely be an imperial federation, led by Anakin Skywalker and Padme Amidala, along with the supreme leaders of each of the native factions, which are enjoying the benefits of unity for the first time in millennia. Persons of Importance: It'll be easily the Skywalker family, along with the Emperors of both factions -- to include generals of slightly minor importance. This list will include Jedi who have chosen to leave the Order in favor of the more spiritually relaxed culture that this faction enjoys. Military: Along with clone troopers defected from the former Republic, they have their own Force-users and sufficient native troops to call themselves well-defended. Unfortunately I know very little of the weapons used in Star Wars aside from the basic small arms mentioned everywhere. So, I'll need help with that. History: Two or three major factions of a small sector in [region undetermined] were separated in times of antiquity. In addition to being separated culturally and politically, they were in various stages for millennia. While in later years they slowly grew to recognize each other as more than just worthy adversaries, the advent of the Clone Wars forced them to adopt an idea that they would have taken many decades to truly agree upon: a lasting peace, or even possibly unity of these otherwise close factions. It wasn't until the later years of this conflict that the Republic and the Federation took notice of this strange, outlying faction and its potential for power. Both sides sent emissaries to both recruit this newly united faction over to their cause, even staying long enough to exchange their ideals and knowledge to a small extent, just to entice the [unnamed species'] to join their respective sides. Eventually, they leaned over towards the Republic enough for the latter to send Padme Amidala, the prominent Senator from Naboo on routine missions to this area to entice this faction to finally back the Republic in the war. A few years later, the newly-formed government of [Undetermined] decided to draft an informal military agreement with the Republic. They would allow the Republic to station troops there, but they would not be fully committing to an alliance. With Padme Amidala on the way to sign the treaty, the Republic would have gained a vital ally in securing that region of space. However, the attack came while Amidala was still within Imperial space, and the treaty never officially materialized. Instead, when Anakin Skywalker rushed over to Amidala's side with his own regiments of Clone Troopers, the agreement was amended: They were free to stay, so long as they were fully committed to keeping [Nation name] safe from both internal and external aggression. It's been twenty years since then, and the Clone Troopers have fully integrated with native forces to create a truly terrifying threat to other local powers. In addition, [Nation Name] has opened up its borders to other Force-users so that they may too come to enjoy the peace and tranquility offered by living within their borders. Aside from that, here are the other things I've got in mind. Other: There are two notably unusual Force-users common within this faction, not normally found outside of Ralgon space. The first type is mostly found in Pyrax, and includes those able to tap into the raw energy of the Force to produce fire, lightning, and other such energies. In addition, they are largely immune to most types of blaster bolts, and carry an innate resistance to the heat produced by lightsabers, among other such objects. However, they are highly vulnerable to shrapnel should they be struck by it. The second type is commonly found in Zenrax, and includes those able to interact directly with the lifeblood of the world -- more specifically, its water and its soil. They have great control over the minerals of the earth, including its water, and they have used this power to create many small wonders for themselves in the past. More recently though, they have used this ability to help the Jedi fashion crystals for their lightsabers -- a weapon that is still considered exotic by Zenraxian standards, despite its usefulness. Despite their innate strength and durability, they are sensitive to heat, although they can easily use the water within their own bodies to regulate their internal temperature, if they must. __________ That's really all I've got on the drawing board. Any help hammering this out will be appreciated.
