Ups:

- Can do dexterous work that Macros cannot
- Are ideal when fighting 1v1
Downs:
- Have a lower energy reserve
- Do not last long in battles
- Must operate in 'bursts'

Macro
Ups:
- Can cause major destruction at a huge AoE
- Can last longer in battles
- Bigger energy reserves
- Are ideal when fighting against multiple opponents
Downs:
- Have difficulties modulating their power
- Generally does not function in the way you want your power to
- Would cause unwanted collateral damage

You can somewhat envision the two by thinking of Micros as a sniper rifle while Macros as shotguns.
