I'm surprised the vampire chronicles aren't on your book list. Have you read them? The film version of The Queen of the Damned is pathetic and childish compared to the book. However one really should read Interview and Lestat beforehand. Interview gets a little thick and strange during certain scenes, but it's still a good book. And The Vampire Lestat, which builds upon it, is probably one of the single greatest vampire books ever written.
Well, as I said the things I mentioned aren't the only things I've ever read/watched, etc. Yes, I have read them but it was probably around 15 years ago! I have to say I agree about the film version of Queen of the Damned vs. the books, however I still like the film, I'm afraid! It was a complete flop at the cinema, yes, but it will always remain a good film to me. Isn't it the same with most films vs. books though? Books will always remain better than films as you can imagine the characters and scenery as you want, whereas on screen they are set out before you and don't always live up to your expectations. I am yet to find a film where the characters are exactly the same as I imagined them to be.
