[/quote]Well, they were kinda an inspiration but only one of the many.
My ships are closer to Star Trek and Legend of the Galactic Heroes in style, for example.
There are a good number of "original" ideas, too.
Of course originality means that you use so many bits of references that you no longer notice the homage in them.
