A system that I've seen done before was that if anyone went inactive for a long period of time without warning or explanation, their characters would go to the GM and would normally be killed off to A) Help hammer home the point that this was a life or death situation and B) To make room for new characters/active players. Just a thought. I'll also do a bit of a character sheet for NPC Captain Alexander. Just encase you feel like using him for something down the line. I'll write it up sometime tomorrow.
It's a system I considered and it definitely suits the plot, but last time I tried that in a thread, people got upset and left in droves. I might consider it as a way of removing characters when I know for certain that they aren't coming back, but otherwise I'll stick to transferring them out of the unit; shellshock is a valid excuse. If he's an NPC, just give me a paragraph about him with a picture, same as Meulemann. This is the same with all (long lasting) NPCs and you're all allowed to make as many as you want. I will probably kill them though. Eventually.
