Aery felt something... wrong... and woke just in time to see Celaena fall out of the saddle. She let out a combination of a groan and a gasp, a groan because didn't these freaking people get that she needed to sleep, a gasp because Celaena had fainted and fallen out of the saddle. She tried to untie the rope that kept her in the saddle, but her exhaustion made her clumsy. In exasperation she cut the ropes and half-fell to the ground, crawling over by Celaena because she didn't trust her footing. She saw the rune on Celaena's head, bit her lip to keep from crying. Ame saw Aery go back to Celaena and instantly dismounted from the pony she'd been riding on. Her purple eyes went icy as she saw the rune. Purple fire started to glow on her hands and she splayed one hand on Celaena's forehead and the other on her chest, following the thread of Celaena's magic that Ansel was sucking away. "Silly, Aery, each of you touch me somehow. I'm going to have to suck some power from you." Aery did it, unthinkingly, but Silly's eyes widened and she backed away. "Ame, no! Ye can' go challengin' a witch! Ye'll get yerself killed or worse! Don' ye remember wha' happened to Skye?" Silly shouted. Skye had been an urchin who'd challenged a wizard who was being cruel to the children. She'd had some spell put on her where she'd ultimately died, but slowly, over the course of a month, in agony the whole time, and no one could help her. "How is this any different than what happened to Aery? She challenged someone stronger than her and she's still here. Damaged, but still here. Besides, Celaena's like our mother. We can't just not even try to help her." With that she closed her eyes, finding Ansel. She had a moment of panic, seeing the vast reserves of energy that Ansel had. But she had to try. With a thread of her magic she threw the thought to Ansel, pressed the will upon her. "Lady Ansel of Briarcliff! Let my friend go!" Fear and determination made her strong, stronger than Ansel might expect.
