Enya Andrews
It was a text message alert that filled Enya with some hope from this dreary day. Hours upon hours spent saving up trying to make ends meet since losing her last job not long ago. The stress of normalcy weighed heavily and shown as Enya yawned nearly dropping her head forward from sleep deprivation. Juliette had sent a kind inquiry checking up on the hopeless violet eyed goddess, and that was the highlight of the day so far. Juliette: "How's the job?" “I think they are displeased with me." Long fingernails began typing. "From all their scolding you’d think I was the bane of existence here. I still have 4 more hours…picking up some more overtime. Late dinner tonight? I can pay this time.” A finger tip pressed send at the bottom before placing the gadget into her locker in the back of the break room. Her little lull away from the front of Sosa, a fancy and highly praised coffee shop, had ended and it was her time to barista once again.
“I asked for a double shot of expresso this is a weak single shot at best. Let me ask you a question young lady sense we are all born with brains in our heads why is it so difficult for you to take an order and make a simple drink correctly?” This woman’s rage was so prevalent that foam began to emerge through the corners of crimson lips like a rabid animal. Enya was waiting in terror the moment she would have to duck from the shot of saliva this woman would evidently spew in a moment’s notice. “ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO ME? No, I don’t want to talk with YOU any longer. GET ME YOUR MANAGER THIS INSTANT.” Two wrinkled hands slammed upon the marbled counter top causing everyone in the dark cherry establishment to gasp and stare with wide eyes. This act was the only thing to cause the infernal female to come back to reality after drifting away once again. Focusing with so much churning in ones mind proved a challenging task for Enya who infrequently picked up on a persons crime. She would be called out from straying from conversation occasionally but it was a side effect of being what she was. “I apologize, can I rema—" Enya clenched both hands at her sides trying to restrain herself from screaming back at this woman because she would have made her listen. All of them would have but she was unable to even try civility since the business woman interrupted her with hands still on the counter. “NO! WHY ARE YOU STANDING THERE LIKE A DAMN IDIOT? WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU? CAN I SPEAK TO SOMEONE WITH COMMEN SEN—“ Threatening words flew from the woman but Enya’s violet eyes drifted close for a moment sensing something quite unnatural. In a daze they fluttered open focusing on a man in his forties gathering his laptop with a smirk on his face, most likely from the scene this woman was causing. His hands pushed open the door with no wedding ring on his finger, and visions instantly flooded Enya nearly drowning her. Perjury…unfilial conduct…possibly even murder? Almost everything the goddess despised this man was guilty of. The young girl he tormented—had to be his daughter, there were others in bright rooms as well. What were they doing there? Scared, frenzied…people took them away. One fought back, throwing a man clear across the room, veins bulging from underneath his skin—such strength. He was quickly restrained and injected with something. Is he a Supernatural to? Without thought Enya left from behind the register with her apron still on and begun to follow this mysterious man. Her manager shouted her name a few times but she was on auto pilot unsure where her feet would take her. She walked down the street as he did until he waved for a cab. Clutching a leather briefcase a small white square fell from his expensive suit pocket into a puddle. Enya rushed over as soon as the clean shaven man left and picked up the item. ... BÖHM Molecular Biologist ... How coincidental. A loud horn blared causing the auburn woman to step out of the road and back onto the street. This would be imperative to look into but not today. The card was put into the black apron’s front pocket as she trekked home in deep thought. Not even noticing she had made it home until an iron wrought gate halted further progression. Feet stopped midway after entering the premises before throwing a void glance toward her roommate before heading inside without word. A single glass from the kitchen was snatched before heading back to Juliette’s location to sit down, pouring some of the Greek liquid into her glass as well and topping off Juliette’s. Enya sighed pressing two fingers toward her temple in ire, inhaling steadily in a meditative state. She brought the cup to pouty lips before taking a long drink from it before placing the glass down on her lap. A thought caused Enya to delve deeper into agitation, her cellphone and purse were left back at Sosa in the locker. “Maybe a late dinner isn’t such a good idea. We should save our money until we get some more roommates. Do we have anything in the house?—probably not…” Enya leaned back in the chair crossing her legs. Slender fingers rotated the glass counterclockwise as russet locks slumped forward from her head looking down. Enya was not pleased in the least and this was visibly displayed upon her usually soft features. Try as she might she felt like a failure once again. Paying rent was nearly impossible for her to achieve as this would be the second job this month lost.
