Name: Cerulean Sebastian Age: 19 Gender: Male Race: Faunus, Jaguar Weapon: Elbow Blades Cerul wields two blades which protrude sideways off of their hilt handles. Grasping the hilt sideways, palm-down, the blade follows his arm to his elbow, the sharp edge pointing outwards. On the other end of the hilt, a small spike protrudes where the thumb grasps the hilt. The blades are ideal for spinning moves and slashing attacks, while the small spikes can be used in closer quarters with more limited room to maneuver. Cerul tries to avoid being that close, though. The hilt handles have compartments for dust, but due to a limited amount of space each hilt can hold only one kind of dust. Cerul favors using Wind dust, one of the four basic types, to propel his arms while using the elbow blades. The dust shoots out in the direction of his elbow, empowering his punch and slash. He has little to no experience using other kinds of dust. Being thinner than average, and not extremely tall, Cerul practices agility over brute force. Cerul sometimes refers to the elbow blades as “The Twins”, or “Slice and Dice”, among other names. (Elbow blades example: http://s314.photobucket.com/user/jillzerby/media/cosplay/possible%20cosplays%20-%20girls/talim_sc2.jpg.html) Specialty: Warrior / Mage Semblance: Twister Cerul’s semblance allows him to spin and spin without getting dizzy, and sometimes even allows him to spin at a greater velocity. Spinning seems to only gather his energy and focus rather than throw him off balance. Though he doesn’t know it, his semblance derives from his desire to see everything in the world and his tendency to analyze people on all sides of a conflict, sympathizing with more than just one person or group. Sometimes, Cerul isn’t sure where he should look, so he strives to look in all directions. Personality: Cerul fancies himself a champion of the downtrodden--and indeed he will fight for the underdog when he’s feeling roused--but really believes that the Faunus and anyone else feeling marginalized should simply step up, participate in and contribute to the larger society, and prove their worth. Acceptance is earned, not given freely. A large portion of Cerul’s ideals come from his parents, who despite being Faunus are well respected. The Sebastian family works hard to earn their place and maintain good favor, and though they face their share of discrimination, the results of their social endeavors are undeniable. Cerul and his older sister both were sent to the same training academy in Vacuo, and even some of the students he hadn’t known were familiar with the Sebastian family (Sebastians aren’t hard to spot, with the jaguar features common to the entire family). He found himself quite angered and strangely guilty when another Faunus was mistreated where he was ignored, even supported. Back among the Faunus, he’d hear spiteful words against the humans. The faunus and humans both seem to harbor the same hate and misunderstanding, and Cerul can’t understand why the two groups don’t realize how similar they really are. Cerul has some idea that he will help make things right for everyone, and that is part of his motivation to train as a hunter. He won’t admit it to himself, but he’s afraid if he doesn’t become a successful hunter, he won’t be worthy of love by society or by any individual. These are Cerul’s inner thoughts--on the outside he’s an energetic, free-spirited adventurer with a will to climb trees and swim seas. He’s stubborn and straightforward; quick to judge himself and others, but ever jovial and well meaning. Geniality, sincerity, industry: these are the cornerstones of the Sebastian mantra and the qualities Cerul values. He tends to wear his feelings and opinions on his face, talk in a quick banter, and become most energetic around dawn and dusk. Color: Cerulean Emblem: Cerul’s emblem consists of three twists of wind flowing in a circle, with a gem in the center. Appearance: Cerul sports the patterned tail and ears of a jaguar, with the bright golden fur and dark black-and-orange spots common to his family. He is slender and dapper, with yellow eyes and thick hair the color of black licorice. Assuming he’s happy or content, he tends to smile freely. Cerul carries himself well, stands to his full height (5’9), and gives a good amount of eye contact. For clothing, Cerul favors blues, ceruleans, cyans, and fancies that these colors bring him good fortune. He wears cerulean trousers that fit him nicely but are slightly poofy, coming in at the waist and ankle. He has a thick black belt inlaid with a cerulean sapphire every few inches. Above the waist, his primary article of clothing is a sleeveless black denim jean jacket. The cutoff sleeves are tailored to be so and show no sign of tear. Cerul wears different shirts underneath it, ranging from tanktops and tshirts--short or long sleeved--to hoodies or some combination of the aforementioned, usually in blues or greys or whites. Most commonly, Cerul wears the denim jacket with a white tanktop depicting part of the city of Vale, only adding a blue hoodie if it’s cold out. Finally, Cerul wears a pair of cerulean sapphire studs in his human ears. (Clothing inspiration example: http://images.asos-media.com/inv/media/3/8/8/7/2487883/black/image1xl.jpg)
