Aery ducks her head to hide her blush. "We could sell some of the functioning parts. The ship as a whole is useless but some of the parts are fine. Like the control panels, since I bet the wiring is what's screwed up, and some of the laboratory equipment that isn't takeable with us, like the electron microscope and the particle collide-er, both of which I've kept in good condition. As far as extra money, I could get a job as a biochemist for a few months. Nakata Industries was hiring five years ago, and they'd not had any takers. Something about employee work environment absolutely sucking. Still, I could put up with anything for a few months. And the pay is VERY good; as an entry-level biochemist I'd be making like 120 dollars an hour or something. That's like 960 dollars a day. More, actually, since I'd do more than just eight-hour shifts. If I do twelve-hour workshifts, 1200 dollars a day. Sixty days, two months on the planet, and we'd have like eighty thousand dollars extra. That and my school money and we could probably get five to fifteen thousand for components and instruments and siding off of this thing, and we'd have enough to get a bigger, new or almost-new ship. We can make this work." She felt rather confident about her hare-brained scheme, now that she thought of it.
