yeah but your character is not looking at people as food supply, that and if he sees real food he might ditch it but his instincts are all he has to go on since food was abundant in society now we on a strange ship with no food and really really salty water and lots of wind and a strange group of people

A lumberjack on a ship that's like a tree
A food supply wearing glasses and talking intelligently 
A girl who sounds like she well a bit crazy
and another girl who seems crazy in a different way

Why must all the girls be crazy?? we could not get any of the sane girls in our group...
