Tyler - Motel - Scarlett "Guess he thought ahead," Tyler said slowly, trying not to giggle at Scarlett's delicate touch. "I'll shut up, sorry." His eyes watched her as she moved back and forth, setting up a rhythm between washing the blade at scraping at his beard. He tried to keep quiet, but he found himself giggling once again, shaving cream falling to the floor from his movements. Tyler figured Scarlett would think he was drunk at this rate, considering he was normally not one to be giddy. But, being here, in this moment, Tyler felt something powerful about it. It was one of those times in one's life that felt like it meant something compared to all the other chaotic moments. The stars were aligned, and Tyler felt oddly fulfilled. He'd tried so hard-- too hard-- to obtain this kind of feeling; Clumsily flailing his arms at everyone and everything in an attempt to achieve some amount of inner peace. Perhaps if only Tyler had not been made the leader of that group, if he and Lynn had gone off on their own with Katie to some far away place, then perhaps Tyler would have found this kind of moment sooner. Strangely, Tyler was unsure he'd ever felt this kind of moment when living with Helen. Scarlett asked him to lower his head, so he did so obediently. He felt a flush rise up from his, heating his face and turning it red. Maybe Scarlett would think it was red from the hot water, or maybe she really would think he was drunk. Was he drunk? "Scarlett," he said, reaching up and gently taking one of her hands. "Just leave it, okay?" Silence. Tyler's head was still lowered, even with Scarlett's. He wasn't sure if this was a right or wrong thing to do, but Tyler figured he hadn't cared about that for a long time now. Gently, ever so slowly, he leaned in to kiss her. --- Tina - Front Lawn - Abram/Sam/Turisa That made Tina pause, her arms lowering slightly. "Looking for people?" A shudder ran up her spine at the thought. Had Tremblay captured more people? Either way, it meant this group didn't intend to leave. Just looking at man standing before her, Tina knew he wasn't one to speak lightly. It bugged her that he didn't care for her warnings, but what could she do? She'd given the warning-- how he proceeded from here was on him and his group. "Tina," Caleb said, giving her a vexed look. "This is ridiculous." He stepped forward, moving to lower Tina's weapon to the ground. Looking toward Abram, Caleb offered an apologetic smile. "We're sorry about this. We're just on edge. We're not kidding when we say some bad people hang out around here." He paused, seeming to think something over. Tina saw it on his face-- Caleb was about to do something she wouldn't like. Though, she had to admit his Southern drawl made him sound rather sincere. "We'd like to help. You have no reason to trust us, I know, but we're tired of dealing with this. We can shelter you." Tina glared daggers at the back of Caleb's head. "Caleb..." she said with a sigh. "Well, he's right. We're not here to hurt you. If we were, we wouldn't have bothered to talk." --- Monica - Streets - Emma She sharply breathed in, moving away from the car to hold Emma by the shoulder. "Oh, honey, it's okay. I have supplies, but we have to hurry." She moved forward now, guiding Emma around and back toward a collection of buildings. "I was waiting nearby, hoping I'd find an opportunity... but the explosions... the fire." In the darkness, the woman noticeably shuddered. "We'll rest for the night, and you can stay as long as you want. Give it a day, and then I'll try and find Danny, okay? I know he's coming." --- Danny - Office Building/Baton Rouge - Alex/Zoe/Andrew/Rob They'd entered Baton Rouge only the day before, hot on the heels of Enrique's pack, or so Danny hoped. They'd found a small office building to settle in to plan their next move. Scouring a city for a group that could move on at any moment would be no easy task, and Danny didn't think it would be possible to follow Enrique any further if they were to lose him now. They'd arrived late in the evening-- far too late to do any serious searching. Besides, a few of the team were exhausted and needed some time to rest. That didn't stop Danny from staying up late into the evening, a candle lit beside him to illuminate a map of Baton Rouge. They'd picked it up at a gas station on the way into the city. Others joined him occasionally as they plotted a steady route throughout the city. If they wanted to do an effective search, they'd need to split up. Danny was just thankful they had the two vehicles. "Everything good?" Elliot signed as he entered the room. Danny gave him a weary smile and rubbed at his eyes. "Nope. Briefed the others on what we're doing tomorrow, but I'm not sure if it'll even fucking work out." Sighing, Danny looked back at the map for a moment, finally choosing to fold it up and put it away. He turned back to Elliot and said, "You know you should be sleeping, right?" Elliot rolled his eyes. "Can't sleep. Actually kind of excited. We have to save that girl, you know?" He moved forward and sat beside Danny, resting one arm on the desk. He was about to sign more when Shannon ran into the room. "I saw movement outside," she breathed, pointing to the next room. She looked alarmed, her eyes wide and a rifle gripped in her hands. Danny nodded and followed her into the next room while Elliot tagged along behind them. At the window, Shannon nodded to the building across the street. He couldn't see much in the darkness, but a pair of binoculars that Shannon handed him showed him clearly the room in question. From the corner of the window he saw the unmistakable sight of a gun barrel. It could have meant one person, or it could have meant an entire group, Danny couldn't be sure. He rushed back down the hall and into the room where everyone was resting. "Everyone, get up!" he cried. He waited for everyone to start rising from their sleep before adding, "Might be nothing, but I need you all awake in case--" A deep bang and rumble shook the building, causing Danny to almost fall to his feet. A second occurred soon after, sending Shannon beside him falling to her knees. Before Danny could even understand what was happening, he realized he smelled smoke. "Fuck! Everyone out! We have to evacuate the building!"
