I understand. I've had bad experiences too. Getting hit in the face with a basketball, someone throwing a tennis ball at me after I told them to wait because I had a bit of grit in my eye, fainting after playing hockey in the cold (thank you, sports teacher, for saying we HAD to wear shorts when playing hockey). But fencing was awesome. Unfortunately, I kind of stopped enjoying it towards the end though, mostly because this one girl, who used to be my friend but started acting really cold towards me, went fencing and I just didn't like being in the same room as her because it felt really awkward that she was purposively ignoring me. Luckily in my last year of school, the teachers just seemed to STOP caring about what we did and I could pretty easily just go home or hang around in the library when sports were on.
Ouch. basketball to the face hurts. Never had it happened to me, but I've seen it happen. Though really, You're playing sports, so a minor injuries are expected, I think. I took Taekwondo lessons as a kid, so stuff like that wasn't really bad. A basketball to the face wasn't nearly as bad as getting kicked up side the head when me and my friend had a sparring match in our backyard xP Granted we were like, ten, but me and him didn't get those silver/bronze medals in tournaments for nothing xD Unfortunately, I had to leave practice because of money reasons. Which sucked. I loved doing martial arts and stuff. (also I could make a joke here about me actually being a ninja. :hehe) Now, sports though, yeah, I hate those. Football, softball, baseball...just ugh. Never liked them, and I loathed the fact all of them were required in our Physical Education classes. It freakin' sucked. I won't go into details, but one day, I ended up with a huge gash in my knee and a broken wrist. Fun times. Didn't hurt too terribly bad - I was used to taken a bit of a beating from training when i was doing Tawkwondo, at least until they put the damn stitches in. Never again, will I let them put those infernal things in any part of my body unless I'm bleeding internally or something. I mean seriously, I could still walk and everything. It wasn't even bleeding but everyone was like 'omigosh you need stitches.' Bah. /rant over.
