One of the best things I read was a biography from a writer, in which he discussed how frustrating it was to write a character, because you might want them in one place, but the next thing you know they ended up on an island somewhere taking a break. The writer has some control, but sometimes a character has more control if you're not paying attention.

So I can't help it if Mal wants to make up for yesterday. That's just in his nature :3
