Weapon Name: Aeran (pronounced "eren") Weapon Type: Naginata Physical Description: Aeran is composed of a white steel staff, 5 1/2 feet long, as well as a 1 foot long curved blade. The blade is composed of an unknown animal tooth, is 3 inches wide and 1/8 inches thick, and is etched on both sides with mysterious runes. The blade can easily be detached by a special mechanism; otherwise you'd need a hacksaw to get it off. On the other end of the staff is a gold-colored round wooden pommel. Capabilities: Aeran is as battle-ready as the day it was forged. In fact, it seems as though it is incapable of getting worn out. The blade stays sharp and free of nicks, and even the white paint of the staff does not get worn. Surprisingly, the blade is incapable of harming humans or Faunus, passing through their bodies as if they were in corporeal, although the staff does not have the same feature. However, Aeran cleaves through Grimm and their thick armor as if it was cutting through paper. In addition, Aeran is capable of utilizing Dust by somehow infusing its blade with the various forms on dust. Using this Dust, along with the Aura of the wielder, Aeran can then release a wave of energy infused with the selected Dust in one swing. However, not everyone is capable of achieving this. Best Known For: Aeran is said to house a spirit, and that spirit chooses its wielder. The chosen one is then granted all sorts of benefits, including eternal youth, inhuman strength and speed, etc. However, most of these benefits are mixed with other stories, and have been confused over the years, so almost no one knows the real truth to the legend. Still, some things remain consistent. It is said that Aeran grants the chosen wielder the power to heal others, as well as even reviving the dead. In addition, Aeran is known to have the reputation to slay a hundred Grimm in one swing, although this is believed to be an exaggeration. Aeran has now disappeared, and no one has been able to find it, despite multiple expeditions to unknown locations. The last one to wield this powerful weapon has stated that only the one who Aeran chooses will obtain this weapon and use it to its fullest potential. History: The spirit known as Aeran was created by 4 people, each representing courage, love, friendship, and loyalty. These four people, Drago, Megumi, Alexandra, and Samuel, were once a strong team of Grimm slayers, and were known for their heroic feats when defeating even the oldest Grimm. One day, however, as they were out on patrol, they were suddenly ambushed by a massive amount of Grimm. Despite wiping out waves upon waves of these foul beasts, they were eventually overwhelmed and slain. However, their spirits could not rest, and together they combined the last of their strength to infuse Drago's mighty sword, Pantatrus, with their souls. Pantatrus then suddenly disappeared, waiting for the right person to appear. That person appeared in the form of Norvandell Pollimer, an aspiring wolf-Faunus Hunter who had little talent but plenty of spirit. Norvandell had been fighting a Beowulf when it knocked away his weapon and smacked him into the ground. Before the Beowulf could deliver the final blow, however, Pantatrus appeared in the sky, falling into the Beowulf's head and killing it. When Norvandell grabbed the sword, it said these words to him, "We are Aeran. You are the chosen wielder of the slayers of Grimm." Soon after, a white orb of energy shot out of the sword and into Norvandell's naginata, creating the etched runes onto the blade. Norvandell quickly became popular as he learned what his weapon could now do, destroying Grimm with significantly less effort and even reviving his fallen comrades when they fell in battle. Norvandell became a local hero among both fellow Hunters and Huntresses as well as the general public. However, there were those who disliked Norvandell's newfound powers and fame, and sought to take them for themselves. Four people of unknown affiliation had ambushed Norvandell and attacked him mercilessly. Norvandell tried to fight back, but the attackers were human, which Aeran could not injure, and was killed. Upon his death, however, Aeran floated in the air and became upright, then told the ambushes disapprovingly, "You are unworthy to wield us." before disappearing into thin air, just like Pantatrus did. No one has seen Aeran ever since.
