Personality: A model student. Michiko is a gentle and kind young lady who is always there to lend a listening ear to people with problems and help them if able. She gives off a motherly aura despite only being a few years older than most of the students.
She is also very patient and seldom get very angry though she does get annoyed at times. Michiko is also quite a responsible person who carry out her duties as a shrine maiden at the temple as well as any job given to her. She also knows about a lot of things due to her time spent reading which is one of her hobbies.
However when pressed with questions about herself, Michiko will usually keep silent and close her eyes before changing the topic of conversation and deliberately not sway it back to herself. She secretly hid her skills with a sword and if people are sharp enough, they may realize Michiko puts on 'masks' when carrying out her duties. If a person manages to get close enough to Michiko, she may open up.

Background
“…it’s a promise…”
A certain incident in childhood and a broken necklace was what led to Michiko to learn how to use a sword from her father. Born to a religious family taking care of a temple, Michiko was taught on how to become a suitable shrine maiden and successor as caretaker of the temple. Initially forbidden due to Michiko’s interest in a specific katana named Ketsueki which was a family heirloom, her father consent to teaching her the ways of the sword. 
Eager to test herself, Michiko visited the Kendo Club when in middle school but was disappointed by the difference of what she was taught leading to her developing her own sword-style. Needing another hobby, Michiko took up reading various texts during her spare time. She was a loner during her middle school years and Michiko decided to change herself in high school.
When in high school, Michiko decided to change her image. Due to her past experience, she avoided the kendo club and decided to join the anime/manga club as a ghost member though she has a tiny bit of interest in them. She usually hangs out at the library or some quiet corner reading a book.
