Though if anyone else has some questions on the locale, [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B%C3%ACnh_%C4%90%E1%BB%8Bnh_Province]Binh Dinh[/url] is along the eastern coast of Vietnam. The 1st Cavalry Division moved there in 1967 to take part in Operation Pershing, which was basically a load of heli-raids against NVA and VC targets, from what I can gather. Although there was a heavy U.S presence in parts of the province, VC and NVA activity was rampant. 

Edit: Ideally, I wanted the players to be on foot and all survivors of the crash - cut off from outside help. 

Of course, the U.S will probably scramble a rescue mission as soon as the survivors make radio contact, but there is a large and undefined NVA/VC presence in the area, so their response may take time. Unless they go all heroic and launch a full scale attack, which is perfectly possible.

If you're happy to wait for the RP to get underway, I can include you as part of the rescue effort - although that wont be until the group have moved away from the crash site, and have radioed for help.
