Ame just magicked the saddlebag open, crawled out of it onto the horses back behind Rowan. "You betrayed us. Aery. She loves you and you abandoned her to whatever fate those witches bring." She broke the string on the dagger necklace, whipped it around, and stabbed Rowan, angling down into his heart, killing him instantly.
And then she realized what she'd done and tears sprang to her eyes. Aery would never forgive her, even though she'd have to know that Rowan condemned them all to die.
Ame leaped off the horse, teleporting mid-leap to be kneeling beside Aery. Her hands covered in blood, her eyes crazy, like fire, she knelt there, drawing up however much magic she could as she faced Ansel and Dahlia. Before either of them could react she flung herself at Ansel, tackling the woman to the ground, trying to stab her with the very bloody dagger. "You betrayed us so many times.
