Malcolm looked about as he spoke with Van. He didn't feel safe in this strange tropical place. He felt like they were being watched. Malcolm tried to explain to Van that he had just been doing something really important before he woke mid-fall in the sky. Except he couldn't remember what was so important and, the more he tried to remember, the more he found it impossible to do so. It was maddening. The more he thought about it he knew only one thing about himself. His name was Malcolm. Every memory he had before waking up swam from his mind the moment he tried to draw upon it. He didn't tell Van this. How could he? Instead he decided to take the lead, try to figure something out for the both of them. 'Maybe there's more people' he said, he glanced toward the sky for any falling shapes. As of right now there were none. Malcolm walked with Van up to the bank of the lake where a large lilting tree provided shade from the heat which bore down on them like a weight. As they did so Malcolm noticed a shape in the water. A red fin poked out the surface, followed by a blue skull-like shape and a pair of piercing yellow eyes. Malcolm stood still, not wanting to tempt whatever was in the water, it's eyes were already trained on him and Van. This creature rose out of the water until half it's body became visible. This thing was big, bigger than a bear, maybe. Two more red fins poked out of the water. Malcolm dared to glance Van's way, his eyes wide with concern. 'What do we do?' he said, he waited on Van's call.
