Cassie couldn't believe what was happening. Things were just starting to go so well. People had just started to trust Serix. And now Hunter had pulled some elaborate plot to get rid of him. And of course they were falling right into the trap. She should have never thought Hunter would leave them be. She should have seen this coming. She should have kept Serix by her side at all times. Then they wouldn't be thinking he would do such a thing. She knew he wouldn't do such a thing, but the others didn't know him like she did. She should have been smarter and more careful. And now they both were paying the price. "Let him go!" Cassie yelled when both Conner and Jake, who had went to seize Serix's arms in their grasps, going to drag him off. She went to move toward them but she herself was grabbed by Ryan in his attempt to keep her from going after them, "You all know he wouldn't do this! He went up that hill to help Charlie! I saw him go up there with Serix! How is it Serix's fault that he was asked to help?! If Serix was still in league with the Lunairans then I would have been killed long before you all found us! He was with me for over a month before we came here!" "Cass, we can't trust him. He brought the alien here. He--" Cassie didn't listen to him though. Instead she jerked from his grasp and turned, smacking him across the face. This made everyone go quiet as she glared him down, huffing fro her outburst, "You know he didn't do anything." She hissed angrily at him before looking to all the others, "You all do. And yet you let someone, who is known to cause more trouble than Serix has since we got here win your trust? Pathetic." She started walking down the tunnels and when Ryan saw this he started following quickly after her, "Where are you going?" "To Serix." She stated angrily, not looking back at him as she walked, "If he goes to the hold, then so do I. I told you that when we first came here." "Cass, "He began, trying to reason with her, "Don't go so overboard about this. There's no reason for you to have to go down there." She spun on him, "And there's no reason for Serix to be either, but he is. Now, if you excuse me, I'm going to join the man I love." She snapped at him. Okay, maybe that was harsh, but she was beyond furious at all of the other hybrids in the caves for being o blind. With that, she turned heading toward the hold.
