Trees felled behind them as they ran. Gushes of powerful jet streams of water snapped the thinner trees in two, or tore away huge pieces of the larger ones. Malcolm stumbled onward, letting Van pull him forward. More jet streams of water broken the surrounding trees until they made it to a denser patch of forestation. They could still here the sound of the blue and red creatures stomping through the forest towards them. They were slow on land, but that didn't matter much, every few seconds or so another powerful blast of water would let Malcolm and Van know they weren't safe yet. Malcolm stopped running at the base of a huge tree, the biggest he'd seen so far, he called to Van and, in a panic, he started to climb the thick root. It wasn't easy, he didn't have the usual strength boys needed to climb trees, he wasn't that kind of kid. However when you've got a dinosaur thing stomping after you you tend to find a little extra enthusiasm for saving your own life. He was halfway up the tree, trying to help Van follow him up too, when the crocodile creature, two of them, stomped into view. 'What do we do?' said Malcolm. He looked around the tree. There were branches they could snap off to fight, maybe, and there was a huge behive above them...could that work? Malcolm had a life long fear of bees and wouldn't dare to do it. The creatures let out another roar, sending another powerful blast to rattle the tree. The bees in the hive were becoming restless. 'I want to go home' said Malcolm, even if he couldn't remember it any more.
