Just to be clear, they are already living under one roof. Dissolving the name doesn't need mass murder. That's.....for lack of better words...terrible. The point that was being made is that both guilds have already amalgamated and the need to constantly call themselves Vyper or Harpies is rather pointless now. The only plot point you need is...say the masters explaining how close the bonds of the guilds have come to be as one.
