He has a generally bright personality, but can be way too optimistic at times that don’t need his optimism. The boy tends to shift around having a talkative attitude and a quiet one, and he rarely ever frowns at people. He usually seems to carry around at least one book or two, and does not really talk about his weapon, “Joylock.” Hikaru is naturally unable to handle horror or scary things that well, but for some reason, he enjoys watching scary movies and scaring himself. He is an apparent fan of Tsurara Ria and has an Ice Mage called “Ritsurara1” in an online game. He also enjoys reading in peace whenever he is given the chance to do so. Biography: What did he do to get pink hair? What did he do to look so foreign, despite the fact that he was fully Japanese? Not even his parents initially knew what to do when he screamed directly in horror at the doctors that took him out of his mother’s womb instead of blindly crying in confusion. They were afraid that he would become a problem child, for even in the incubator, it took Hikaru a fair amount of time to stop squirming and screaming. Instead, he became a bright boy. With pink hair. And for a while, there was nothing special about him except for the fact that he could pole vault at the age of seven. Hikaru lived peacefully for his first ten years, and when he discovered a strange ability, he realized that he perhaps had a special purpose. For one day, he decided to participate in the Power Curriculum Program. It was meant to be a simple thing. He would participate in the program and achieve a personal reality. Although that was what he aimed for, he turned out to have fairly low potential to be a strong Esper. Even then, he decided to participate in the program, and soon, he was identified as a Level 3 Esper. Much to his surprise, nothing felt different. He could not cast flashy projectiles like many Espers did, but he decided that it was normal to not feel anything. When a series of chaotic events occurred in Academy City, however, his determination was put to the test. The first event involved him encountering a truck that was filled with robbers and fistfuls of cash. All he had with him was a grocery bag filled with cabbages, leeks, and Pokemon cards. He stood still, waiting for the walking light to shine green. But then, he saw a child running down a road and a truck swerving towards the child. By instinct, he leapt for the child and held onto her, propelled away from an explosion that erupted between him and the truck. A woman screamed, catching the attentions of many. But miraculously, he stood with the child in his arms. And as soon as he saw his grocery bag crushed underneath a truck that had stopped working, he screamed “NO! CHARMANDER, NOOOOOO!” The robbers were eventually caught by the police, and he soon came out on the television. His mother and father blinked as they watched their own son pump a fist and said, “With the noble sacrifice of my Charmander, I saved a child! Everyone else can also save children by sacrificing Charmander!” Taking out the bullshit he just spouted out (which he actually believed in), everyone commended him for his efforts… though, those who looked up to him were mostly children who did not know Pokemon that well. But soon, he met another event that further spread his name. He eventually faced a bunch of robbers during a trip to the bank, only to discover his powers by propelling the men away against a wall while attempting to protect himself. Soon, his mother and father watched Hikaru appear on the television yet again, and he excitedly pumped a fist as he told the television’s audience, “Before you get in trouble, make sure to take drugs, everyone! It helps you stay strong in hard times!” Shortly after the interview, he was interrogated by the police before being let go after establishing that he just worded his sentence strangely. Hopeful in empowering his Esper powers, Hikaru promptly decided to join Hybrid Academy. Ability: Explosion Manipulation – Level 3 Explosion Manipulation allows Hikaru to generate explosions. He himself is nearly immune to the damage caused by his own explosions, and can control the explosion’s properties. Hikaru can also generate explosions in mid-air, and usually causes explosions through the usage of objects such as his sword. Whatever he touches to use for Explosion Manipulation will glow blue or pink depending on the object’s color and size, but the glow does nothing else other than indicate that Hikaru can attack with the object. Touching an object allows Hikaru to cause any part of the object to generate an explosion. Weaknesses Explosion Manipulation is what you see and what you get. Hikaru has a nearly nonexistent AIM Field, meaning that his power could be ineffective against certain opponents. He is also a bit slower compared to certain speedsters, and must rely on timing his explosions correctly and swiftly because he is also not much of a heavy hitter without his powers.
Quotes: Hikaru can commonly use certain quotes under certain circumstances. These are very situational. Finding them will cause them to be listed in this category. Theme Songs: Nevereverland Sky Scraper High You Will Know Our Names
