To me the game seems rock/paper/scissors, but not in the usual class > class way. Basically, certain classes beat certain classes depending on range and tactics. A destroyer can wreck face with surprise tactics and short range, but if a battleship sees it then that's it for the destroyer. A carrier can handle almost anything at long range, but the moment any ship at all gets close up it's sunk. Cruisers, being the jack of all trades that they are, can use almost battleship-like tactics combined with mobility to take out nearly anything. Unless, of course, that anything is a battleship. That's the way I see it, of course. I'll need some practice to actually figure out the system.
