The Yamato's basic stats were indeed on top of most, if not all other battleships, however, they did not have the technological advantage. That belonged to the US in the pacific theater. Granted, when you get battleships such as the Yamato into close combat, where range technology plays no role, you are pretty fucking scr00d, but I still hold firm belief in either the Montana or the german Battleships, mainly due to historic record.
