I'd say that having her be from another car would be just fine. Everyone is pretty much bunched up together, more or less, and as I saw that your chica is a geeka, the poke stickers on kitty's cast should be a good jumping in point. Or you could ignore them and meet the teachers. Or just hold off until later altogether, but I'd say that'd be boring. 

I'm assuming she's a new student despite being eighteen? What with her lack of interaction with those age?
