Alex could tell what he was thinking: "Don't even go there Rou."  He thinks to himself: "[i]If Jo catches me thinking like that, she'd KILL me![/i]"  Alex continues with: "I was just curious.  End of story."  He goes back to eating his food fast... but ends up choaking due to his fast eating and falls flat on his back with the knocked out look in his eyes, catching the attention of the others.
