Kat had quickly found a dive bar and made her way inside. At first she had obviously stood out – her attire not helping much – but this was hardly an unfamiliar situation and she soon had turned the public opinion around. Maybe unsurprisingly it was always the wrong kind of people that it was easiest for her to spend time around. Of course the drink helped too.

After a couple of hours and too much alcohol she stepped outside, relishing the cool air. Taking a quick damage control she weighed up her options. She could hardly get herself back to her house, teleporting across the globe right now was clearly a disaster, and she definitely couldn't head back to the academy. With her options limited she took one last breath of the crisp winter air and headed back inside.
