Having reread his CS again, they are total opposites. The Millford family is not rich, secure yes, but not rich. They have a long standing relationship with the Association, contributing a decent amount of their studies and findings over several generations. I would go as far as saying that they have authored a good number of books. I can see them knowing each other as "good" acquaintances, but for what I don't know. Charles doesn't seem to be too interested in studying magic so would he ask Jacob questions on the matter? Maybe he took a photography class where you travel with the archaeology division around the world and photograph ruins and such. If that works we can discuss a little bit of back story.
