Duck, How do your people know I am communicating with anyone if there are no ships in the area? And ASTA, So does this mean your weapons just destroy everything it touches? Your small arms ( rifles, pistols, Sub-machine guns) can pierce up to medium armor at well over standard engagement distances?
Both the submachine gun and the assault rifle were never invented by the azu. The only hand-held automatic rifles that they produce are select-fire battle rifles. These are uncommon and, among many hunter circles, are quite unpopular. The lion's share of azu firearms comprise a wide variety of howdah-style pistols, hunting revolvers, 2 bore paradox double-rifles, single-shot breech loading rifles, and bolt-action double-rifles. Essentially, most guns on Anuku are extremely accurate anti-material rifles, elephant guns, or hunting pistols that fire rocket-accelerated cartridges that climb to hypervelocity speeds within mere seconds of leaving the barrel; some of these cartridges are APFSDS rounds that perform flawlessly against armor. Others are simple armor-piercing munitions that have the ability to expand within the target, creating deep wound channels in their wake. Modern weapons (like the Russian PTRS-41, Barrett M82, or the Model 95) are fully capable of destroying armored vehicles and killing infantry. The .700 Dinosaur Hunting WTF rifle (yes, this is an actual weapon) boasts performance comparable to a .50 BMG rifle. Many of the aforementioned weapons can penetrate more than 35mm of RHA from several hundred meters away. Azu firearms, by decree of being more advanced than their modern counterparts, can be expected to penetrate far deeper. Although not a very creative people, all azu are quite adept at mathematics, possess an acute sense of judgment, and have a feline's eyesight. Even when restricted to iron sights, they're able to accurately down man-sized targets from several miles away. With enhanced ammunition, longer barrels, and optical sights, this range is dramatically increased. Electrothermal-chemical technology is not required due to the azu's use of stronger, highly-concentrated propellants and their superior metallurgical sciences, but it can push the envelope even further if need be.
