Laughter rang out through the room, even the farmer was he laughing as he walked out. Lucinda, giggled and skipped back to the bar where dropped the tray and picked up a pitcher of weak ale to fill the empty cups of those still eating. Were you truly? Didn't Father Willibald say that "only those desperate for companionship submit themselves to mockery" not two weeks ago when encouraging that merchant's boy to stick up for himself? It was technically true, though terribly out of context, still it earned more chuckles from the diners. Tavish might have said more, but the morning crew was heading out to begin their day's work, so he merely wished his guests a good day, and begins wiping the bar down with his slightly used rag. Seeing scout still in the window, he throws a last jibe before setting himself to the task of emptying the prridge pot and starting the stew. Have you no chores to attend to? Your father's inn must be quite empty indeed! Oswin! Yes Papa? Have you finished feeding and exercising the horses today? Yes Papa! Then be so kind as to escort Scout back to her father's inn, we wouldn't want her to trip on anything now would we? No Papa... Oswin sighed and trudged out the door. He always felt uncomfortable when scout was around, he hated the way she always seemed to stare through who ever she was looking at. Some of the kids thought she was a witch, having traded her sight so she could see the future. Papa said it was nonsense, always asking Oswin "if she could see the future then why didn't her father own all the inns in town?" whenever he brought it up. And Oswin couldn't answer that question, but he still didn't like her eyes. If she just kept the closed maybe it wouldn't be so bad, but she was always "not watching" as the kids in town called it. Oswin stepped into the street and waited for Scout to join him, trying to keep her in his peripheral vision.
