Rose retreated with her forces, her eyes now sad. Her mother would either kill her or give her a talk that would make her cry, and Rose suspected it would be the latter. She was one to hate upsetting her mother. Everyone else looked happy as they retreated. Even though they had lost, they had wiped out a considerable amount of enemy troops, including catapults. Several groups of the force split off into differing directions, Rose's own group heading back to the capital. Fortunately, they were all on horseback, meaning they could gallop there faster than with those on foot.
