Every artist does have that right. Lets go back to the cake metaphor: If you put a cake out on display, you can sit there and tell people not to take pictures when they take out cameras. Have guards posted to keep people from touching the cake. Put the cake behind rope and panes of glass to help with that. To artwork, that translates to not putting it in a public place where it can be seen, shared, and ultimately, taken. It's the harsh tradeoff: If you don't want people to take it, you get it, but nobody else is going to see the artwork your so proud of. But if you want others to see it, you have to accept the fact that it's going to be taken. Either way, the artist loses. The only way to win is to not play the game.
