Everything was going so nice, so peacefully and she could feel herself relaxing; nearly melting in Peter’s arms. A long soft sigh left her as her knees nearly buckled under her as he kissed her neck. Surely abound to make some mistakes she would regret in the morning, Nikki opened her mouth to speak… only to be interrupted by the sound of Rocket’s voice coming over the intercom. Of course, that guy’s whiskers must have been twitching because he had a good habit of interrupting well timed things. Her attention moved up to the ceiling as he spoke, and they listened to Rocket respond, only to have him cut off by the incoming transmission. Rocket seemed almost offended but the sudden talk who he was and about having someone of high value aboard sprang Nikki from Peter’s arms and she rushed out of the room and to the dining area where Rocket was typing on the computer in an attempt to get through the Nova’s hacking. “Nova Prime.” Nikki said in an assertive tone. “I insist you halt your actions and vacate the area.” There was a small pause on the other end of the line before a small chuckle happened, “Who are you to tell me what to do?” “I am the highly valued person on board and you are not to touch this ship or board without a warrant and permission of its owner. If you break galactic law they’ll have your suit.” “My assignment is to bring the person of high value by any means necessary, I am to escort you to attend the council of planets meeting as a representative.” “I no longer have a planet. That’s pure insult to have me there.” “But there are still people. Those who left the planet need to know that there is a beckon of hope from their home planet.” Nikki’s head hung, her chocolate eyes scanning the floor as if it was going to give her some form of advice. Her attention moved upwards letting out a sigh of defeat. “I take it as you’ve given that speech before... I will return with you--- but I do not wish to board your ship if the Captain will give me a ride instead.” She turned her attention to Peter. As much as she didn’t want to leave, she seemed like she’d have to talk her way out of committing herself to the council. “Do you mind giving me a ride Captain Quill?” Her chocolate eyes begging him to say yes, but twinkling with an idea; it was a long shot idea and they’d have to play along but it’s an idea.
