[@Nightmare Bunny] the Civ games are basically like a big board game. If you're into that then I would recommend Civ 5 for you although in my opinion the Civ games are not that fun. I dont mind turn based games but Civ has a really obvious Rock-Paper-Scissors combat system, which I hate.

I personally preffer the Paradox Grandstrategy games like Europa Universalis 4 and Victoria 2 because it gives me alot more freedom and the diplomacy and politics aspect are much better implemented. The combat can be quite annoying however as you will have to have the good graces of RNGesus on your side to win battles, though most of the time it works quite well...
