[s]All[/s] most of the main characters from the first two transformers G1 cartoons die. Optimus Prime, Ironhide, Prowl, Ratchet, Brawn, Windcharger, and Wheeljack. Many more do not show up in the third season following the movie, so it can be implied they are missing/dead.
