I really like your CS [@KnightofTempest], although I'm not sure if summoning lava should be in the Earth gem department. I'd rather have it controlled by a Fire gem, since you already have quite a long list of things you can manipulate.

The joy of this RP is that things are quite open to your own interpretation. I didn't want to define everything in detail, so as long as you stick to the main concept (the land being plain and unfertile) you can't go wrong. KnightofTempest did a great job doing that with his Dragon mountains. Although, you do have to include the fact that the Land has been transformed during the last years of King Armagen's reign. Meaning, there must be some green and waterly oases in the desert, because at the moment living there isn't as hard as it used to be.
