Another day, another year of Ongaku Academy. Had it been three years already since he had enrolled? Damn, time certainly flew by fast when no one is looking at it. Three years in Japan, away from his hometown and away from everyone he had known since he was only a child. It hasn't been easy to pretend that he wasn't homesick, but it's not like he didn't make any friends here...well...he's made a few, but to call him a popular guy is like saying that the sky is purple; it wasn't true. Sure he had been known on the student campus by many students though it was mostly ridicule and bullying from most of them due to his shy and rather no nonsense personality when it came to learning, even if it is the most mundane of subjects. Michael had arrived early to unpack his things and decorate his little space with posters of old movies such as Gone with the Wind,, Dirty Harry, and the God Father. What mostly took up the wall space was his massive record collection, ranging from Dave Van Ronk to Frank Sinatra to Stevie Wonder to Jimi Hendrix to Jeff Buckley, Wynton Marsalis, and so much more. He had taken it upon himself to build a bookcase that had not only contained the records that couldn't be hung up on his wall, but his massive array of books, a personal library that would make any librarian damn proud. In the previous couple of years, his experience with his roommates was dismal. One of them was smitten with him and didn't even bother to hide it, often flirting with him and wearing only his skivvies when they were in their dorm room. The other was just as awkward as Michael and they didn't say anything to each other in fear that they would both say something stupid. His hope was that this year he would have his own living space, but that would never be realized. There was the second bed that signified that he did indeed have his own roommate for this year. He could only pray that this year that this person would be at least decent. He just laid on his back on the bed, staring at the ceiling. He couldn't stop thinking about what his roommate could be like. Sigh, no sense in worrying I guess. To take his mind of it, he grabbed his laptop from his bedside and turned it on. Perhaps playing a game would ease his mind?
