Oh dear... Did you ultimately get your music off of your old drive?
It can be such a pain. My father spent days trying to get things off of his computer once it finally crashed. It was eminent and my mom and I kept telling him, "back up your files back up your files" and he never listened. Ultimately he got most of them, but it took him the better part of two weeks.
