Darahil's answer was direct and descriptive, so Meesei had no need to ask for clarification. She just had one final question for him when she heard a voice approaching outside. It was familiar, though distant enough that she could not quite place it by ear. She heard Fendros address the newcomer, though if Meesei's fears were correct, she felt it would be best for her to address the matter herself.

Meesei leaned in closer to Darahil so they could speak more quietly and took on a more hurried demeanor. She was almost done with this interview and wanted to deal with whoever was outside as quickly as possible. "I just have one final question. It may not make sense or seem relevant to the situation; I just ask that you trust me. When you went to the scholar's loft for your research, what specifically were you researching? And who in the loft would know what research you were performing?"
