We all need a little totally-not-clementime in our life.
I'm not sure. I'm under the impression that we need more Mr.Not-Policemen and Mr.Not-Soldiers or simply a few more Misses/Missuses. I would have thought that Valentina is different from Clementine considering: 1) She is of Russian descent, not African-Japanese. 2) She actually has a very clear character background. a) she's very good at the arts, particularly singing/acting. b) she has a toymaker father who was from Soviet Russia, not some nondescript father who's a zombie. c) she used to have a family with backstories beyond being on vacation before being zombified. d) has backstory 3) Her family/friends/guardians were all long dead, leaving her alone for the majority of her life after the end. 4) As such, she develops differently from Clementine; while Clementine gets the benefits of having adults protect her and is only darker much later down the road, Valentina gets incredibly dark incredibly early due to the lack of... everything. 5) She is mentally scarred to the point of being half-feral and half-insane. Requires years of psychiatric help, most likely. 6) She is physically scarred beyond repair, unless you could print a new, functional eyeball for her using a 3D Bioprinter and some skin. I don't see that happening. 7) Therefore, she is far more likely to be violent and unreasonable. 8) But she knows far better how to survive, perhaps a bit too much. Unlike in Clementine's case, it wouldn't be ridiculous for adults to trust her. There, I hoped I marketed my character better. I could go on and on but there you go.
