She couldn't just kill the doll in this scenario, not with the disparity in their reach. And so long as they were contracted, Regina [i]had[/i] to uphold her end of the bargain, no matter how much she didn't want to... even if this appeared to just be 'exist, anchoring the monster'. But if she could get to the church at some point, Lucia or someone else could deal with the problem or tell her what to do.

At least the nails would be useful in the worst case scenario, if this monster went off the leash. It couldn't exist without her, after all, so if she wasn't around any more... no more Doll.
