I caved. *Shakes fist* (I am so going to regret this later when I'm busy.) I'm working on a CS for Doreen Green. When I clean it up some, I'll dump it here. Edit:
| Identity | Doreen Green a.k.a. (The Unbeatable) Squirrel Girl | Origin & Backstory | 1987-1997: The Early YearsDoreen was born and raised to (Mom) and (Dad). She was an only child. When she was born it was quite obvious she was different. After all, what child had a tail? A rather bushy tail? Upon discovering their child had the "x-gene" the young parents moved to Los Angeles to lose themselves in the mass of people. They worried about their little girl being a mutant. Even more so as anti-mutant sentiment causes riots. Still they tried to raise the girl as normal as she could. As Doreen grew so did her powers. The little girl climbed before she could walk. Ate nuts before anything else and chittered at squirrels. Her parents took this in stride as best they could. When it became obvious the other children avoided her but not the squirrels, her parents tried to get her to act "normal". Doreen became very unhappy. After a few months her parents decided her being abnormal and happy was better than normal and unhappy. They encouraged her behavior instead and resigned themselves that Doreen would always be Doreen. Though they did not encourage her nest building tendencies. Nor her habit of teething on wooden table legs. (It was too expensive to keep replacing tables.) 1998-2000: Dreaming of Being SuperDoreen first consciously decided she wanted to grow up and be a superhero at the age of eleven. She still even remembered the day. It was when the Brotherhood of mutants attacked a missile silo and were stopped by the X-Men. Doreen remembered watching them on TV, out of focus and blurry because they were so far away. But it was still the most amazing thing she had ever seen. Her favorite quickly became Wolverine because he seemed so much like her, even if he had far longer claws. After that all Doreen would talk about was being a superhero. Her parents didn't quite encourage her, but upon seeing she wasn't going to do anything active about it, didn't press the issue. Doreen pretty much lived her life at the point the same has she had been. Of course that all changed in 2001. 2001-2002: The Year of the SquirrelLike most people Doreen didn't know what was happening when the attacks of September 11th happened. Because she was on the West Coast she didn't hear about it until she was awakened by her mother. The two of them watched the news long into the day. In the days after Doreen was entranced by the reappearance of "Superheroes". Though to the young girl it was an amazing sight. Doreen chatted to her parents day after day about joining them. Doreen's mother knowing her daughter well eventually give up trying to stop her little girl. She created Doreen's first costume and did her make up and set her off. The teen, aged 14, tracked down her favorite hero, Iron Man and tried to become his sidekick. However he turned her down saying she was too young. Not at all rebuffed, she hunted down her next favorite, The Fantastic Four. With the same results Doreen tried once more with Superman. But she didn't even think he saw her. Still the young teen was not deterred. Monkey Joe suggested that perhaps before they tried to become someone's sidekick, perhaps they needed more experience. Doreen happily agreed and began to fight (minor) crimes "solo". (She did have her squirrel friends to help even if most people didn't recognize them as legit crime fighters). 2003-2005: Squirrels Attack! With anti-mutant resentment on the rise Doreen's parents moved to another part of Los Angeles. The teen learned how to tuck her tail into her pants and hide a few more of her squirrel habits. Though she never completely neglected herself. She mainly hid for and because of her parents. Both her mother and father worried that if she was outed as a mutant she'd be taken from them. Of course Doreen worried that if she gained an arch-nemesis he'd come after her parents. Those three years Doreen honed a lot of her skills and so did her squirrel friends. They became very good at coordination and finding people's weaknesses. (You'd be surprised about how many would be robbers freaked out when a scurry of squirrels fell on their heads. Most were happy to give up and she'd call them off. Needless to say her squirrel friends didn't have a very high opinion of villains.) During those years Doreen also faced a handful of super-villains. No one main stream, and she never really heard of them afterwards. Monkey Joe laughingly said it was because they were too embarrassed after having been defeated by a bunch of squirrels. She also ran into Deadpool who gave her a card set of villains that he had complied. 2006: Death and AliensDoreen hadn't really thought her 19th year alive would be terribly exciting. After all her 16th birthday had come and gone without much aplomb. And it's not like her squirrel friends really tracked years like she did. She was looking forward to moving out since she was now finished with High School. The only problem was getting a job. That very thought was in Doreen's head the day the Aliens came. (Not that there weren't aliens before. Here's to looking at you Superman.) These Star’ro parasites started killing people and had the audacity to attack Doreen. Well, Squirrel Girl didn't take that lying down. She rounded up all her squirrel friends and attacked the alien menace. Unknown to her in another part of the world the most epic team up was happening. Later Doreen would bemoan her fate about not being there. But she had more important things to worry about. After the aliens were defeated Doreen learned that winning had come at a terrible price. Monkey Joe, her best friend and companion had given his life. In fact all of the squirrels that had aided her perished. All but one. Devastated Doreen gave him a proper funeral and mourned. However Doreen didn't put up the costume. If she id his sacrifice would have been in vain. With the aid of Tippy-Toe, the only squirrel survivor of her squirrel army, Doreen was able to accept Monkey Joe's death and continue on. With Tippy-Toe's encouragement she decided to try and join a team. 2007: TryoutsDoreen solicited to join the Justice league and the Teen Titans (despite being 20). However she is turned down by both groups. Apparently having squirrel powers wasn't considered good enough. Still, like always, the young woman was undeterred. She was going to join a team and that was that. During her search she was approached by S.H.I.E.L.D. They told her they had been watching her for some time and thought she'd be an asset. However Doreen didn't want to join S.H.I.E.L.D., despite the fact they had the Avengers Initiative. Mainly because they tired to recruit her for the spy side. Doreen didn't want to spy, she wanted to be a hero. So Doreen continued her search. When she heard of a new team called The Defenders. They didn't accept her as a full time member. But she was able to become kind of an honorary member. Basically she was a glorified babysitter for Luke Cage's and Jessica Jones' little newborn. Still Doreen was thrilled to be accepted. 2008-2010: The Calm Before the Storm Doreen after being accepted by The Defenders helped out a little with running the team, or liked to think she was. In 2009 she decided to go back to school with a little encouragement from Jessica. Doreen applied and was accepted to Empire State University (ESU) which was close to where The Defenders were located so she could be close enough if they had need of her. | Attributes | Powers: Doreen is a Mutant. Physically she looks quite normal except for a few key features. These include her prehensile tail, which is roughly three to four feet in length and quite bushy. She has large buck teeth which are excellent for chewing through wood. She has claws on her fingers, which she can easily hide since they are not very exaggerated. She also has retractable knuckle spikes which can extend up to two inches (not quite squirrel like, but they do come in handy!). She tells most people that she has the proportional strength of a squirrel. However that isn't the entire set of her powers. If you ask nicely she'll happily give you the whole list and a demonstration. First is superhuman strength and agility which is proportional to what a squirrel would have if it was Doreen's size. Because of this she can jump really high and from tree to tree. She has 'squirrel agility', or heightened reflexes. Also heightened vision which enables her to see in low-light situations. Though the downside is that everything (in low-light) is red hued. She also has an enhanced sense of smell. Which in the city she tries not to use. Doreen is especially proud that her lips taste like hazelnuts (or so all her boyfriends have told her). Skills: Doreen is capable of communicating with and understanding squirrels. She does not communicate with squirrels telepathically, instead she has an understanding of their language, and the ability to speak it. All squirrels can understand English (and probably other languages too because they are that smart. Think about that next time you kick one). Doreen is also a superb hand-to-hand combatant. She's taken classes and self-trained. She also has developed the skill of finding an obscure weakness so she doesn't have to fight everyone she meets. (After all she doesn't want to hurt her squirrel friends.) Equipment: Doreen has a variety of items. Her favorite is a utility belt. It has multiple pouches that contain nuts to give as snacks to her squirrel friends. These are known humorously as her "nut sacks". She also carried around cards that give villain stats. She has one set of 'Iron Man Vs. Series battle cards'. She also has a set of Deadpool cards that describe villains called 'Deadpool's Guide to Super Villains'. She always has them because you never know when they might come in handy. Partners: Tippy-Toe: Doreen's main squirrel sidekick. Tippy-Toe is easily distinguishable from the other squirrels by the pink ribbon tied in a bow about her neck. (Yes, Tippy-Toe is a she.) Random Squirrels: No explanation necessary here. So I'm going with that. I'm not sure I'll make the best Squirrel Girl ever. But I'm pretty sure she'll at least be amusing to read. I'd like to take her to new places and to meet new people and to grow as a person. One of the most fundamental things about Doreen is that she never gets down. There is always a bright side. I think this RP will need that bright side as things progress. Not only that, she's a very versatile character, she can join anyone and be an asset. I intend to see her through at least three separate arcs right off hand. I also intend that she lands a key role in later encounters. I hope you'll all love Doreen as much as I've enjoyed making this CS. Arcs + Doreen really wants to graduate from "Ultimate Fan" to the big leagues. + Juggling College, work, making friends, and her 'Secret Identity'. More slice of life and how things tend to fall apart. + Possibly a misadventure with another character in which Doreen helps them in squirrely ways. (I'm up to working with anyone that will have me) | Sample Post | "Prepared to be defeated Doctor Doom!" Doreen proclaimed, foot on a railing, squirrels around her. They over looked Doctor Doom who wheeled about at her words. "The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl!" He cried. "How did you defeat my impenetrable defenses?!" Doreen laughed at him. "You might have Justice League and Avenger-proofed your fortress, but it's not squirrel proofed!" With these words Doreen leapt through the air to where Doctor Doom was standing. He jerked a little in surprise at her. "How dare you tresspass on Latverian soil!" He raised his arms. "Prepare to die!" Doreen laughed again. "I think not!" At the very moment squirrels landed all over Doctor Doom's body. The Villain flailed about as her furry friends pulled at his advanced suit of armor. He tried to toss them away but more were there to take their places. From his head Moneky Joe held on like he was riding a bull and waving a cowboy's hat. Tippy-Toe with her pink bow ran up and down laughing happily. "It's over Doctor Doom." Doreen told him. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. "Not yet!" Doctor Doom cried as an alarm sounded. "You haven't defeated me yet Unbeatable Squirrel Girl!" "What have you done Doom?" It was Doreen's turn to cry. The annoying sound continued to go off. There was something so familiar about that... But there was no time for that. Doreen had to stop whatever evil nefarious Doomsday device Doctor Doom had set off. She was the world's only hope! "You'll never defeat me." Doom crackled. Even if his armor was being pulled to pieces. Monkey Joe leapt off Doom and onto a control panel. Then he pointed. "Doreen! That control panel! The Green Button!" The small squirrel pointed and without any hesitation Doreen jumped and landed next to the panel and mashed the button. The infernal beeping noise stopped. "Curses!" Doctor Doom shouted. Doreen turned back to Doom. She smiled in triumph and punched him in the face with a battle cry. "You Suck!" Doctor Doom crumpled to the ground and all the squirrel's cheered Doreen. She stood there for a moment a preened. "Everyone's going to want to see this." Doreen exclaimed suddenly. "Tippy, Joe, get over here." Doreen pulled out her cellphone and stood with a boot on Doom and took a selfie. "Ha!" She said happily. "Now lets take him in." Easily, with one hand, because the other was still occupied with her phone, she hefted Doom over her shoulder and took him outside his fortress. Outside the grounds were covered with the Avengers and the Justice League. Someone took Doom from her. Superman and Iron Man lifted her onto their shoulders while the rest of the heroes cheered. "Doreen. Doreen. Doreen." They chanted. Doreen happily waved, thrilled at finally having been accepted by them. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. Doreen ignored the sound to bask in the glow of praise from Iron Man. (Who also wanted to be her sidekick.) BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. Superman looked up at her. "Aren't you going to get that?" Doreen cracked open a eye and groaned. Her alarm clock continued to wail at her. Groggily she reached out a patted it until it stopped. She levered herself into a semi-sitting position and checked the time. 6:48. Doreen dropped her head back to the pillow. "Five more minutes." She grumbled. Five more minutes until she had to get ready for class. To Do: Make up parents names. Polish up work. Then I'll be done :D
So I'm really proud of this right now. [s]Even though it's a complete WIP still. I'm only about halfway done[/s] Another Edit: So my CS is filled out (not quite completed) it probably still needs another go through to add and subtract. But I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything glaringly obvious. :)
