Well, it is your choice whether you seek out an IC relationship. I just gave the list to show that there are still options at least. I'm okay with my character interacting with everyone too, the relationship does help whenever you don't know who particularly to turn to, though, when something happens, who to interact with at a random point, or who might try to interact with you when things seem to be focused elsewhere. *shrug* Just my thought process on it.
