I think we may have to, just because the characters aren't in a place IRL where they would continue to associate in game once they learnt who the other was. At least mine isn't. I'm not sure how yours would react since he's in more of a dependent spot. You'd only have to change the massage to something like 'I was a bit upset but this cheered me up' just avoiding any specifics where someone could connect the dots.
