The assassins of Alamut and their descendants have been fighting with the Templars and theirs for almost a millenium. Today, of course, the fight is more of a struggle of survival for the Assassins since the Templars have secured their position with sworn Templars in power. The knights fight for order, doing everything in their power to create a peaceful and organized world while the Assassins try to stop their adversaries from obtaining absolute control. Both groups pursue artifacts from a civilization that came before recorded history. To do this, they delve into their ancestors’ memories by using the "Animus".
