I might be totally OOCing these characters, but I can totally see this happening:

Cap: Jax, what the hell is this? 
Jax: I made it! Well...most of it. 
Cap: It's not staying. 
Jax: But...I already touched it, it has my scent,  now it's mother will never take it back. We have to keep it!
Cap: Fine...

And so Clocky the Rooster stalks the captain's nightmares, but at least he eats the termites and scares the other rodents.
