Kyo had barely left the room when Rez finally couldn't hold the pain anymore. Snatching at his shirt he tugged the hem up to his face and shoved it into his mouth in a crumpled lump of fabric. Barely had he chomped down on it when the screams came. Muffled through the shirt, they died before leaving the room. The pain was worse than usual, for the most part because no one had challenged Rez for a while, but also because he had done the challenging, because he had lost, and because he had challenged for something as meager as a card game. that last one only sometimes affected the outcome, for example the worse he fails the more pain, but for something like a card game, with the other combining factors, it didn't change anything. At some point in time he fell of the chair, landing hard on the ground with a 'ka-thunk', just adding to the pain. Finally, although really it was not long, Rez stopped thrashing like a land-bound fish, and curled up in a tight ball. Whimpering softly. Eventually even his muffled whimpers died out leaving a shaken mess of Rez on the floor. Climbing tediously to his feet, Rez stumbled over to the door, staggering out into the hall and collapsing in the entry hall, deciding he'd wait there until the others came back, and then he'd hopefully be able to find a room, all he wanted right then was to sleep. As a way to pass the time he fished his ear-buds out of a pocket and cranked the volume up to loud, picking a fast song, and tuning out of the real world, and in to the music.
