“My name is Fury, frankly that is all you will ever know about me.

At the ending tides of the second great war.  My colleagues and myself began this secret society as a means of protecting this world from itself and its more... unsavory aspects.  However despite our ability to infiltrate and influence governments, cultures, and other parts of life.  It seemed as though we still have crime spewing forth from the cracks of this world.

To combat this, we began the Avengers Initiative.

The Avengers were named solely as they were brought together to avenge those unable to defend themselves.  For decades they have been protecting the world from many things it was unaware even existed, and things it feared.  The time has come for the next generation of Avengers to carry on our battles, and fight for those who can't fight for themselves.

The crux is a re-imagining of The Avengers.  SHIELD is now a secret society that has its influences deep into the world without a soul knowing its existence besides those who oppose them, and the few crazies no one listens too anyways. You can use any canon Marvel hero who has been at some point an Avenger (NO OCs).  However they have to have their story or character changed in some way, even if its just a simple sex change.
